The Alawite State (Arabic: دولة جبل العلويين‎, Dawlat Jabal Al-Alawiyuna), also known in French as Alaouites, after the locally dominant Alawite sect of Shi’a, was a French mandate territory in the coastal area of present-day Syria after World War I.
